My beloved dad, passed on to God's freedom and peace on July 6, 2013. All five of his kids, his wife of 45 years, and one son-in-law were able to be alongside his bed loving him and cheering him on across the finish line. It was one of the most profound experiences of my life thus far. Doug and I were so blessed to be with our family through this transition. We are happy for Dad's new life and freedom from illness, but sad because we miss him. This is him at age 16 when he graduated from high school. Now we are making plans for return to Kenya and to our work in the Maasai community. Here's a tribute written by my older sister from memories compiled by my brothers and sisters and I:
