Change in Course
Last I wrote we were headed up to Minnesota, the origin of the massive Mississippi River, as well as, the origin of our journey. Coming back so soon, only a month and a half after our departure has caused a fair amount of reshuffling mentally, emotionally, as well as, in our backpacks.
This past week, after more than a month of consideration, we made the decision to officially change course. The process was one of waiting, praying, discussing, living weeks with unknown, until finally, it became clear to us and we decided.
Our journey will now take us to Illinois for an extended time of living with my older sister, her husband and three small children (2 months, 3 and 5 yrs). We will be serving alongside them in order to help shoulder the process of dealing with breast cancer- childcare, chauffeur to and from appointments and school, cooking, cleaning, garden/farming/canning/freezing, interceding, general household tasks, logistics, etc. Our hope is to meet a great need of accompaniment and support- extra hands and extra hearts.
We plan to take breaks, pace ourselves, go on bike rides, go visit my parents who themselves are dealing with metastatic stomach cancer and chemo.
Thanks for following our journey with us. At some point, we are considering doing a long bike trip in place of our other journey. We'll keep you posted as to what new ventures are around the bend.

We love you guys. Sometimes mission, beauty, vision, and service come where we don't expect them to. Thanks for keeping your ears tuned to the voice of the Spirit. His song is never a disappointment.
