Doug's Birthday and some shots of rainy season fall out

We were delighted to have electricity all day in order to beat the egg whites stiff  and whip the cream for the frosting for the bday cake. Happy day!

This is the river (that is seasonal because of a diversion upstream) and this is when we are able to cross. Below is the river at the highest we'd seen it. That day was market day and we learned later that the crowd of Maasai who'd trekked to the crossing grew to 300 or so who hung out for a few hours on the banks with their herds of goats, hoping that perhaps it would drop enough to cross safely and get to market. Didn't happen that day.

Here are some of the dramatic effects of flash flooding that happens everywhere and does such damage to the already suffering roads.

We've had a lot of electricity loss in the past couple weeks, life goes on...
