More Daily Life

These guys made the trees look like shrubs. We were so impressed. We love animal safari on the way to work.

Share the road.
Making garden.  The foliage has grown up to look like the prairie with nearly hip high grasses- so many beautiful kinds...

There's a few kinds of giraffes. We think this might be different from the previous one. Look at those cutie hooded brown eyes and the white "boots", but don't be fooled. These are said to be able to decapitate a lion with a kick.
Being served Shaai (black tea, boiled in full cream fresh milk with lots of sugar) with our MIDI staff  at a local lady's house.

Self help group meeting. Our MIDI staff has some good facilitators- one is getting his masters in International Conflict Mediation.

A Self-Help Group

A very interesting bird raising his tail, perhaps in alarm of us.  He was somewhere between the size of a very large turkey and an ostrich.  He was big! We were told they eat snakes.

Doug brings a 9th life to the neighbor's radio.

With rainy season came lots of spectacular wild flowers

Every hike includes meeting and greeting of local folks, especially people out watching their herds of goats and cows.

Our sweet neighbor boys who play soccer till the cows come home or at least till the sun goes down and come almost daily for a "pump" of their soccer ball.
