The Help

My youngest sister and her husband came this past week for 4 days. They brought along their energy and motivation and we felt as if we'd gained some team members in our headlong preparation for our departure to Kenya on Jan. 8. Here, the installation of the garage door opener is in progress.

We celebrated my sister's birthday and gave her twin, my younger brother, a call to include him in the celebrations, too! We enjoyed a gourmet caliber meal by M.

Our project list is diminishing bit by bit as we approach our deadlines of departure. All the trim is in the house and the closet doors are on!  We took a big load of storage up to Doug's parents and our home is slowly being disassembled. We're still praying for the right renter to come our way, as well as a buyer for our car and motorcycle!A lot can happen in 3 weeks...

Last but not least by any means- Today marks 10 years since the diagnosis of my dad's cancer. All kinds of praise to the greatest God for the fact that we've gotten to enjoy his presence and relationship in our lives for so much more time than we'd ever dreamed of 10 years ago tonight. And for all the special times he and my mom have gotten to share in this past 10 years...What an amazing gift its been. I'm so grateful.

  1. So glad things are coming together. I pray you get the big things sold and your house rented comfortably. Thinking of you...a letter will make it to you before you leave... :)

  2. The time is approaching fast! I know what this feels like and praying for all the tasks you have to get done before the departure.
