New Era

We've transitioned into a new era. From the beginning of our married life until last weekend, we were working on getting ourselves and our house ready for this next era. On the part of the house- we were building an apartment in the basement so there could be 2 units for rent so we could go elsewhere in the world and do something together. On the part of "us", we were seeking our next step - getting ready for a united mission.

This two sided project was where we "cut" our proverbial marriage teeth over the past 22 months. It was the backdrop for challenges in extreme flexibility, for learning about our differing approaches to process, and for our spiritual paths that joined and grew, among many other things.  We reminisced as we drove away from our house at 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening after scraping the last of our stuff into storage boxes and deep cleaning the whole basement.

So when one era ends, you are immediately issued into the next era- just like that. Ours new era is Kenya.  So we're done with all the construction, the seeking, the list making and list checking.  Now on to the big changes and new beginnings- new languages, new people, new day to day life, new foods, new scenery, new clothes, new transportation, new sounds. Here we go!
