World Aids Day

The HIV/AIDs organization that we work with held a two day camp at the Najile Girl's school in partnership with the local Compassion project for their peer educators from the high schools.  On the second day, they did a "roadshow" and we joined them for a little walk down the road and through the little market center of Najile, chanting the theme:  "World AIDs Day, Getting to Zero". There was a program of poems and skits and speakers and testimonies of two ladies living with HIV in the community. They did an excellent job pulling this whole thing off.

On World AIDs Day, I snuck back to the kitchen in the girl's school to see my friends who were the cooks that day. It was quite an impressive operation, if you notice the size of the pot of potatoes in the foreground! You can see the size of the vat to the left that is in front of Nalamai and the fire at the bottom that is cooking the whole mess! Wow!
